2019 FWCO Holiday Carol Writing Competition Winner

Over the years, the presentation of these student composed holiday themed songs has become the highlight of our annual Teddy Bear Concerts. Each year we are amazed at the creativity and skill shown by our student composers and wish we could present each to our audience. We also appreciate the effort made by the teachers to do that ‘little extra’ to present this opportunity to their students and guide them through the composition process. We know how busy you already are, so again, thank you.

We are proud to announce the winner for the 2019 Holiday Carol Writing Competition.

For 2019, we are pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s Holiday Carol Writing Competition is a group of 5th grade students from June Davis Elementary in the Crowley ISD – Sonia Lopez, Alexis Njeri, Jordon Woods, and Joaquin Costa and their song, “Together at Christmas.” We thank their teacher, Beverly Heather, and principal, Kevin Hunt, for their part in their students’ success.

Congratulations to these students as well as Ms. Heather, Mr. Hunt, and June W. Davis Elementary School for this accomplishment. This song will be arranged for full orchestra and voice to be presented on our Annual Teddy Bear Concert on Saturday, December 14th, 2019, at 7:30 PM, in Truett Auditorium on the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Campus. This concert is free of charge and we invite all the participants to attend and be acknowledged during this concert.

Thank you again to all the entrants. It was a difficult decision to choose among the many outstanding submissions.
