Summer Reading Orchestra
No stage. No spotlight. Just music and connection.
The Fort Worth Civic Orchestra started as a “reading orchestra” – a group of volunteers who gathered to rehearse new music and experience a wider repertoire without the pressure of achieving perfection for a concert. We honor this tradition through three sessions each summer. The music is accessible and playable for musicians from diverse backgrounds – perfect for seasoned players wanting to explore new pieces and those looking to build confidence in a supportive environment. The main goal is simple: come together in the off season and enjoy playing music we might not have the opportunity to tackle elsewhere.
Join us for FWCOโs annual Summer Reading Orchestra!
Whether you’re curious about joining FWCO, home for the summer, or a current member seeing off-season fun, everyone is welcome. Even if you don’t play an instrument, you’re invited to witness the magical process of learning a new piece unfold. Come for a welcoming musical experience that’s all about learning, growth, and community.
