Competition Details:

Date: Sunday, March 8, 2026
Location: Texas Wesleyan University, Anne Waggoner Fine Arts Building
1st Place prize: $500 plus an opportunity to perform the movement of the Concerto with the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra
2nd Place prize (if awarded): $250

Entry Requirements:

Payment of the $35 entry fee
Submission of a 5-minute audio or video recording of the selected concerto movement

Eligibility:

Open to students any age through 12th grade residing in Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, Hood, Ellis, Wise, or Denton counties
Open to any orchestral instrument or piano
Previous 1st prize winners are not eligible
The winner must be available to perform at the Season Finale Concert on Saturday, May 16, 2026; otherwise, the prize will be forfeited

Additional Information:

Any solo work with a commercially available and traditionally accepted orchestral accompaniment may be submitted
The judging panel reserves the right to reject repertoire deemed unsuitable for performance. In such cases, the entry and fee will be returned
An accompanist is recommended for the audition but not required
