Calling All Student Musicians through 12th Grade!
FWCO’s Annual Concerto Competition is open to student musicians through 12th Grade who are residents of Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, Hood, Ellis, Wise or Denton counties and play an orchestral instrument or piano. Past first prizewinners are ineligible to re-enter.
Students are required to submit a recording of themselves performing their selected concerto. If chosen from that group, the student will be required to perform a movement of the same concerto in front of a small panel of judges. There is a $30 application fee. Please download the application below. First prizewinner will receive a $500 honorarium; Second prizewinner receives $250.
Judging for the Concerto Competition will be held on March 16, 2019. Applications are due February 22, 2018, so apply today!
The Concerto Competition will be held in Cowden Hall on the campus of the Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. The winner will be invited to perform the movement of his or her chosen concerto with the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra at its annual spring concert on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Truett Auditorium at the Seminary. Note: The winner will forfeit the honorarium award if unable to perform at the concert.
